Some stories are just so special, and Jamie’s story is one of them. I’ve had the honor of photographing Jamie as a high school senior, then again as a bride, and now… as a mama-to-be. This maternity session felt like such a full-circle moment for me, and I was so excited on the day of her and Tyler’s maternity session in a glowy field.

We started their session exactly where I expected we would… in a sunlit field. Jamie has always been drawn to nature. Her senior portraits were taken in a field, her engagement photos were set in the woods, and her wedding took place under the trees at Havenwood Farm and Events. So when she stepped out of the car, looking completely adorable in her ripped jeans and white top, I smiled. Jamie looked exactly like I expected her to… relaxed, beautiful (of course), natural, and right at home in the tall, glowy grass.

We spent the first part of their session walking around the field, chatting, and laughing between poses. Then we brought out a cozy blanket for some more snuggly photos, and it was just so sweet. Their connection, their comfort with each other… it all showed up in the photos.

After we finished up the more casual photos, Jamie changed into a stunning white lace dress. She was breathtaking. Then, at one point in their session, Jamie pulled out something so special… a necklace her mom gave her. This wasn’t just any necklace though… it was the same necklace that her mother wore while she was pregnant with Jamie. It was so sweet to add that sentimental element to their maternity session. I have a feeling that those photos will be some favorites for her mom.

Just Mama + Baby Girl

Now, you can’t have a maternity session without photos of just mama and baby!! So, we made sure to allow time for just Jamie and her baby girl. These images feel especially sacred. Because there’s something so profound about this time… when baby’s here but not quite here yet. When the bond is invisible but unbreakable. This little girl is already so loved. She’ll be here soon.

Jamie and Tyler, thank you (again and again!) for inviting me into your lives. It’s been the deepest joy to document your story as it unfolds. I’m so happy for you both as you step into this next chapter of parenthood. I cannot wait to meet your precious daughter. Any day now 💕

Life Update

Just as this blog was getting ready to go live, I got the sweetest news… Jamie and Tyler welcomed their baby girl into the world. The timing feels extra special, because the images in this blog were taken during those final days of waiting. And seeing these photos now, knowing their baby girl is finally here, makes them feel even more meaningful. Welcome to the world, little one… You are already so loved. 🤍
