Some sessions are just so relaxed and feel like family… And Halley and Patrick’s beach engagement session felt exactly like that! Halley is the little sister of a former groom that I photographed in 2024. So, when she reached out to ask me to capture her own wedding this coming January, my heart did a little happy dance. These legacy clients mean so much to me. It’s the greatest honor to be invited back into the same family’s life moments, again and again. Fun fact: I even photographed her sister-in-law’s senior photos, back in 2017. So yes, there are all kinds of connections here, and I’m beyond grateful.
From the moment we met at Ft. De Soto Park, I could see how much Halley and Patrick simply loved being together. They were so relaxed, playful (as you will soon see), and completely at ease in each other’s company, which made my job so easy and fun.
Photos At The Fort
We started at the fort, where Halley’s floral sundress was the perfect contrast against the soft and weathered walls of the fort. The two of them walked, twirled, laughed, and shared the sweetest, private conversations as I photographed them. It was wonderful…. we started off so strong!!! Then it was time for our next location. So, we wandered over to the stairs for a few playful, and “model” shots before making our way down the path to the beach.
Photos At The Beach
That path was magic! It was a quiet little stretch, perfect for capturing some sweet moments, before we headed down to the beach. And once we hit the shoreline, the two of them came alive in the wind and waves. Running, laughing, kissing… running some more. It was pure joy… from start to finish. As the sun began to set, we spotted some of the old fort ruins and we decided to end the evening there. The most glorious and dreamy light wrapped around them. It was beautiful!
After their session was complete, I remember thinking that, if their engagement session was any indication of what their January wedding will be like, I know it will be the best celebration… full of love, and laughter! The kind of love that you feel in every photo!! Halley and Patrick… I can hardly wait for your wedding day!!!
