This past summer, I had the privilege of heading up to North Georgia for a wedding that I had been looking forward to for quite a while. It was at this location, beneath the towering pine trees, that Precious and William would commit their forever to one another, at their elegant Clisby Pines wedding.
Their love story began a few years earlier at Liberty University, where they were both students. On their wedding day, their college and church friends, as well as their families filled the venue and surrounded them with so much love. It was such a perfect day, and I am so excited to tell you all about it.
A Story of Redemption & Grace
Precious’s life is a living testimony of God’s goodness. Precious’s parents, who lovingly chose her as their own, surrounded her with love and support on her wedding day. Of course, we can’t forget her huge extended family. They all adore Precious as well, and it was evident during her entire wedding day.
From the time that Precious became a part of their family, she experienced a home overflowing with faith and the love of Jesus. So, of course, on her wedding day, that love continued to fill every single corner of their Clisby Pines venue.
Letters, Prayers, and Quiet Moments
The day started in the getting ready room. It was stunning, and huge, which was a great thing because Precious is part of a huge family. All of the girls were getting ready together and helping each other with their hair and makeup. There were also several professional hair and makeup artists present to help with the getting ready process. A gorgeous array of snacks filled the parlor that adjoined the getting-ready space. Everyone was so excited for the celebration to begin. It was such fun to be able to capture the details in that getting ready space, along with everyone. They are also part of my own church family, so it was very special for me as well. I loved seeing the Lord’s goodness to Precious’ family and I’m still not over it!
I would be remiss if I didn’t mention all of the intentionality that this amazing family demonstrated on Precious and William’s wedding day. While I was in the getting-ready space with the girls, letters were handed out. Not one, not two, but three heartfelt letters. Precious had lovingly penned notes to her parents, her dad had written a letter to her mom… There wasn’t a dry eye in the room (including mine!). William also wrote a letter to Precious. Her expression was priceless. Precious quietly read this love letter and took in every word that he had written to her. It was truly wonderful to capture this sacred moment.
Once the girls finished hair and makeup, we moved straight into PJ photos and then the first looks. There were several first looks, which was not surprising considering how intentional this family is! Precious had a first look with her girls, then with her dad. William also had a special time with his mom before the ceremony.
Finally, only one important moment remained… the first touch between Precious and William. They shared a quiet, private prayer, which was a beautiful reminder that they are building their marriage on Christ. I watched in awe as their love and respect filled their outdoor space, not long before the wedding ceremony began.
From Rain to Rays of Sunshine
Now, I want to take a quick moment to point out God’s goodness even more, leading up to the wedding day. All week the forecast threatened nonstop showers, and we prayed for clear skies. God answered!! The morning began with some drizzle, but by the time the outdoor photos began (before the ceremony), the sun was glowing and so warm… and it was glorious!
The Ceremony
Precious’ father, a pastor, officiated the ceremony while her grandfather offered a heartfelt charge to William, just prior to the beginning of the ceremony. There were sweet and funny stories shared, and it was so much fun to hear all of the laughter during the ceremony. Precious’ three younger sisters sang a song of worship as the couple shared communion and had their first prayer as husband and wife. It was such a powerful moment.
A Celebration to Remember
After their ceremony was finished, it was time to celebrate!!! Not only does this family know how to demonstrate their love and respect for one another, they also know how to throw a party!!! And that is exactly what they did for the rest of the night!! With both, their Tampa and Tennessee church families, their actual families, and friends like family, their reception turned into the happiest reunion!! The party continued until late in the night, and then… when the clock said so, everyone showered the newlyweds with rose petals as they had their grand exit and drove away to their honeymoon. It was the perfect ending to the perfect day!!
Photographing Precious and William’s wedding day felt like stepping into a living example of God’s faithfulness. From adoption to the covenant of marriage, their story shines with redemption and joy.
Precious and William, thank you for trusting me to capture every prayer, every laugh, and all the in between moments. Both of you are loved more than you will ever know!!! I hope you enjoy these favorite images from your perfect wedding day!!
